MIXED FORTUNES BY RORY PHILLIPS

Following six years of remixes and collaborations for countless artists, Rory Phillips releases his first original material.

Steering away from the album format, Rory will be releasing the music as Mixed Fortunes, a Singles Club of 6 2 track 12” records, released throughout 2012.

Named to reflect the stylistic range of the series, Mixed Fortunes, will channel the same spirit of musical adventure heard in both Phillips’s remix work and in his genre-hopping DJ sets, with tracks both by Phillips on his own as well as some undertaken with a range of top secret collaborators. Each 12” will contain 2 tracks and will be limited to 300 copies. There will be no remixes.

Every two months, subscribers will receive each record as it is released, along with the option of a free digital download of all of the tracks in the series.

For non subscribers, the series will also be available on vinyl in selected record shops, albeit without the download. The first release, due in January, contains a pulsing slice of cosmic disco (‘Chamber Music’) on one side and the robotic stomp of ‘Factor 50’ on the other.
